New York City Upfronts 2012

My favorite time of the year in New York City is Upfront week!  It's an annual event that occurs in May during which the television networks show advertisers their planned programming for the upcoming season.  Each network hosts their own event at different locations across the city on a different day.  During the event, advertisers get to watch clips of the new shows, see some of the cast members, and watch some performances.  After the presentation, a couple of the networks host a party where advertisers get to mingle with the casts of the shows, eat some food, and of course get some drinks!  I'm going to review some of the shows that I watched and give an insider glimpse into the after party.  Enjoy!
  

The Mindy Project: Mindy Kaling,

The Mindy Project stars the brilliant Mindy Kaling from "The Office." The show follows her as a successful Ob/Gyn and her fellow co-workers.  The cast includes Ed Weeks, Chris Messina, Zoe Jarman, and Dana DeLorenzo.  In the clip that we saw, she makes an inappropriate toast at her ex-boyfriend's wedding, nearly drowns at the bottom of a stranger's pool and gets arrested for disorderly conduct just moments before having to deliver a baby.  We get the feeling that she's successful in her career but not so lucky in her personal life or maybe not that she's unlucky but a little quirky.  During the course of the show, we'll get to watch how Mindy deals with life and her co-workers with a lot of laughs in-between.  I also have to support a fellow South Asian who is the star of her own show!  Go Mindy!

The Cast Of NCIS

The cast of NCIS was very fun and playful.  Cote De Paulo is hot, so I asked her if she would straddle me in the picture.  She agreed and grabbed my necklace.  Michael Weatherly told me my dress looked nice, and I told him I was going to tweet that to everyone!  You could tell that the cast was there to enjoy themselves and the evening.   

Necessary Roughness: Mehcad Brooks

When I approached Mehcad, he was joking around how in random scenes he has to take his shirt off.  I told him I wouldn't mind if he wanted to take it off now for the picture.  He laughed and we took this picture - next time shirt off!

Fairly Legal: Michael Trucco And Ryan Johnson

This is one of my favorite pictures.  I asked Michael and Ryan if I could take the greatest picture ever, me in between the two of them.  Who wouldn't love a Fairly Legal sandwich?  They found it funny.  The two of them have a great sense of humor and fun personalities.  I'm going to continue to watch the show because of them!
